Nutcracker

Last year I took the girls to see the Midland Festival Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker". I then told the girls they could try out for it this year. Unfortunately, I reneged because I just didn't know how we could fit the practices in our already full schedule. That's my excuse anyway. So we went again this year. Baylen was upset at first because she wanted to be in it instead of watching it, but she loved it again anyway. Apparently Sayer either forgot a lot from last year or really wasn't paying attention, because it was if she was watching it for the first time. Baylen also got a sweet surprise as we were flipping through the program, her picture was in an ad for her dance studio!

Christmas Parade

Baylen and Sayer rode a float in the Midland Christmas Lighted Parade with their dance studio Art and Soul . They were to wear pajamas and look like they were waiting for Santa. It was in the 30's, so we bundled under their gowns and had blankets for the ride. Baylen chose to dance and we got to see her and Sayer was on the float on our side of the street so we braved the cold and the long wait and it was totally worth it! Their float also ended up winning a trophy for best lighting. Third time really is a charm as Dravyn finally watched and enjoyed the whole parade. Of course it didn't hurt that every other "float" was a police car or fire engine with lights a blazin'!
